Unique Details

The famous Bauhaus architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is well known for a favorite quote: "god is in the details."  While Casa Sollevare doesn't offer Ludwig's austere design restraint-- this home replicates the richness of a 300-year-old Italian farmhouse, after all-- it does exceed his unparalled attention to detail.

This home is not a "Tuscan re-creation," complete with American recessed can lights littering the ceilings and shiny, brass hinges on the doors.  The architect-homeowner traveled extensively throughout Italy and replicated the authenticity found there, from the cabinet hardware to the exacting way the mason installed the stonework.

The photos at left showcase only a few of the hundreds of specially-designed details that make this home so much more unique than any you will have ever visited.  That authenticity of detail is a substantial reason why Casa Sollevare was named 2006 Home of the Year by the state's pre-eminent residential design periodical, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles.

To see and learn more about any of the details at left, simply click on the image for an enlarged photo and history.
